Academic Support Services

The Office of Admissions & Student Services supports the academic endeavors of its students in a variety of ways, just a few of which are highlighted below.

General Academic Support

Smarthinking: This extensive online tutoring service is available to all enrolled students, free of charge. Students may select from various options including drop-in tutoring, scheduled tutoring, and email questions. Additionally, students may use the writing center to receive targeted feedback on an essay or paper. Smarthinking access is available through any course in Schoology.

MyFoundationsLab: Provided to students Academic Warning or Probation, this personalized academic intervention program provides each student with a customized path to improvement, based on diagnostics. If you have any questions about MyFoundationsLab or how to gain access, please contact the Student Affairs helpdesk.

Capstone Project Assistance

In collaboration with the department of Academic Affairs, the Office of Admissions & Student Services provides students with support and guidance when completing the Interdisciplinary Capstone Project.

Project Guidelines: Use this handout for guidance regarding project formats concerning length and requirements.

Capstone Project Proposal FormComplete and attach this required form to your written proposal when submitting your idea to the Capstone committee.

Sample Projects: The projects listed below represent exceptional Capstone submissions completed by DC graduates. Samples are to be used for educational purposes only. Projects have been posted with the permission of the alumni in question, though all names have been redacted.

Student Orientations

All students new to the College are now required to complete an online student orientation in order to remain eligible for re-enrollment. Students are automatically registered in this non-credit course as soon as they enroll. For additional information regarding online learning at Doral College, visit Support for Online Learning.
